PATRIARCHAL  BLESSING

Given Upon The Head of  Sis. Mary C. Tomlinson
In His Name, By Patriarch Harrison Sperry

Given  April 17, 1910

Mary C. Tomlinson     Born  February 18, 1839
Mother's Name:   Laura Carrie Rood

Mary Carrie Tomlinson, as a servant of the Lord, I lay my hands upon your head and give you a Patriarchal Blessing.

Sister, you are God's own child.  He loves you.  He knew you when you were with the Father in the Eternal world, and you were his noble daughter.  You kept your first estate while you were there and you took an active part in that great battle that was fought in heaven, for you were there and you helped in casting those evil spirits down to the earth.  For this, the Lord gave you the privilege of coming here upon the earth and receiving this body, a tabernacle for that noble spirit of our God to dwell in.

You have been faithful and true here upon the earth.  You have yielded obedience to the Lord and have gone down to the waters of baptism.  Your sins are forgiven you and you now stand pure and holy before the Lord.  You're of Ephraim.  This is your lineage and that lineage runs in the lineage of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.  We find that seed scattered all over the face of the earth.

When the saints of the living God came to your home, you accepted that truth that they revealed to you.  You're a mother in Israel.  You have fulfilled the law.  You have born sons and daughters here upon the earth.  You have been kind to the poor.  You never cast the poor from your door but you have been kind to them, and inasmuch as you are kind to the poor, all of God's blessings rest upon your head.  Your table will be spread with the bounties of the earth.  You will never lack for food, and your children will never cry for bread.

Sister, thou shalt have the privilege of performing a mighty work here upon the earth for your kindred, for you have many that have passed away long, long ago, who have never heard the sound of the Ever-lasting Gospel.  They are living in a Prison House and they cannot free themselves until a vicarious work is done for them.  You shall have this privilege, if you so desire, of releasing those poor souls, and when they meet you behind the veil, they will fall upon your neck and call you blessed, for you have been a Savior upon Mount Zion, and they will rejoice with you and your kindred.

There will be a mansion of glory prepared for you in the Eternal world, where you, your husband, your children and your grandchildren will meet in the realms on high.  There you will rejoice together for time and all eternity for your faithfulness here upon the earth.

Sister, your name is written in the Lamb's Book of Life.  That book is kept in the Eternities to compare with the books that are written here upon the earth.

Sister, I lay my hands upon your head, as a servant of the Lord, and I seal you to come forth in the morning of the first resurrection, crowned with the glory of immortality and Eternal life.  This is your blessing, dear sister, and it is predicated upon your faithfulness upon the earth.  God knows your faithfulness here upon the earth.  Many have heard your voice and rejoice in listening to your kind words.  They say, "Truly, Sister Tomlinson is one of God's noble women."

To this and, I lay my hands upon your head, even so as a servant of God and the Lord Jesus Christ.

                                                                                                                                                                             Amen.
